Beautiful organic cotton apron featuring Fairy Flint's three young Kingfishers.
It has taken me many years, decades in fact, to finally photograph a Kingfisher up close. After years and years of trying from riverside and aboard boats, during lockdown in 2020, a young Kingfisher delighted me by landing just next to me. Fortunately, I was behind some tall nettles so it wasn't aware I was there and I managed to (finally, yay!) get my treasured photos. From these and some sketches, I painted this triptych which reminds me of how the young kingfisher was looking around down onto the River Rother. This Kingfisher (I want to call it 'my' kingfisher but I know that's not true!) lifted my soul so much during lockdown last year, I was on a high for quite some while. I do hope that my painting on your apron will bring you a little happiness too. Enjoy wearing your beautiful bird apron :)
