The Avocet is such a gorgeously beautiful bird to see, with its scooping bill, an absolute joy to watch. I've spent many an hour with my daughter watching them from a hide, delicately picking its way around as noisy gulls swoop and clatter around them. My Avocet cartoon reminds me a lot of the fun we had bird watching together, it brings back warm memories!
